Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Business Analyst to join a fast-paced engineering team building and enhancing financial technology products. You will work closely with product, engineering, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, process flows, data models, and acceptance criteria.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging the gap between business and technology while taking ownership of features from discovery through delivery and user acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

• Gather and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews and analysis of existing systems.
• Convert business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify requirement gaps, inconsistencies, and dependencies before development begins.
• Maintain and prioritize the product backlog using Jira.

Process & Data Analysis

• Create business process flows, workflow diagrams, and state diagrams.
• Develop and maintain logical data models and document field definitions.
• Analyze data across multiple systems to identify integration issues and inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure business rules are accurately implemented.

Integration & Technical Documentation

• Document system integrations, API requirements, and business rules.
• Define process triggers, workflows, error handling, and validation logic.
• Work closely with developers to clarify technical requirements and resolve functional questions.
• Maintain project documentation within Confluence.

Testing & Delivery

• Prepare and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate application data using SQL queries.
• Work with QA teams to track defects and verify resolutions.
• Participate in release planning and production deployments.
• Support go-live activities and production issue investigations.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of Business Analyst experience within software development environments.
• Experience working in data-intensive or regulated industries such as FinTech, Payments, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or iGaming.
• Strong experience gathering business requirements and writing detailed functional specifications.
• Experience creating process flows, workflow diagrams, and data models.
• Good understanding of APIs, system integrations, and business workflows.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and analysis.
• Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with financial services, payments, trading platforms, or fintech products.
• Knowledge of payment gateways, reconciliation, or commission-based systems.
• Familiarity with MetaTrader or similar trading platforms.
• Experience with KYC/AML workflows.
• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
