They are looking for a Legal & Compliance Officer. The position would be ideal for a qualified legal professional with experience in regulatory, legal, and compliance functions, particularly in financial services.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial documents such as service agreements, confidentiality clauses, and vendor contracts
• Providing legal support to various internal teams regarding regulatory compliance, risk management, and business operations
• Offering guidance across departments like compliance, client services, research, HR, and IT on legal and strategic matters
• Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks, including local and EU regulations
• Conducting internal audits and managing regulatory risks where necessary
• Coordinating training sessions to educate staff on regulatory updates
• Addressing data protection obligations under applicable privacy laws and GDPR requirements
• Supporting legal and compliance heads in administering internal programs, policies, and procedures
• Overseeing legal matters across multiple jurisdictions and supporting international legal initiatives
• Maintaining accurate company secretarial records if needed
• Performing anti-money laundering checks and supporting regulatory applications
• Participating in internal committees and contributing to ongoing compliance initiatives
• Communicating effectively with internal teams and stakeholders across regions

Expectations & Requirements:

• Should possess experience as a qualified lawyer in either the UK or Cyprus, with 5–7 years in a relevant legal role
• Quite an acquaintance of financial regulation, especially relating to FCA/CySEC frameworks
• Must be skilled in navigating UK and EU data protection laws • Ensure that you deliver sound legal advice with commercial awareness • Ensuring quality projects are delivered within defined timelines across multiple disciplines • You are also expected to have familiarity with employment and intellectual property laws, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working across diverse teams and jurisdictions
